TWINWALL

We can install a twinwall flue in almost any room in most buildings. You show us where you would like the stove to be, and we carefully design the system so as to take the simplest and neatest route to required height.

TWINWALL INSTALLATION

Through wall:

The flue would come out of the stove at the top or back and go through the wall at 45 degrees at about head height. The inside is finished off with a black metal plate to match the woodburner and flue.

This can then travel up the side of the building or be freestanding. The height is determined by a number of factors we calculate in the design process.

Through roof:

We can install Twinwall direct through a single storey roof, and then be freestanding. Support will be needed for lengths over 1.5 Meters.

It can also travel through a ceiling and upstairs room before reaching the roof. The route has to be planned carefully as the pipe is typically 200mm thick and needs clearance to combustibles (like floor joists) of between 50 and 60mm. When the pipe passes through a room it needs to be boxed in, forming a fireproof shaft through the house.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Twinwall can fitted to travel at 45 degrees for 20% of its length to allow choice of placement of the woodburner and the chimney top.

It is also possible for us to connect a Twinwall system into a brick chimney and finish with a flexible liner to the existing chimney stack.

We use Scheidel Twinwall, as it is of good construction and has thicker inside walls than rivals. All associated components such as wall mountings and support plates are of high quality outdoor grade stainless steel.
